Clive Graham Associates has recently completed the fit out of a private viewing gallery at Christie’s Auction House in King Street, London.

The 35m2 room was previously known as the “old collections” room, an area where buyers would collect their artwork and antiques following purchase. It has now been created into an adaptable private viewing space with original features that allows clients to consider the artwork in privacy in a more intimate setting.

The room was stripped back to its shell and three existing exits within the room were blocked before installing a floating wall, suspended between the floor and the coving in order to create flexibility when displaying the artwork.

The air conditioning units have been installed behind the new suspended walls and new oak flooring has been laid.  Original features such as the fireplace and the coving were refurbished, restored and painted.

The room has an existing roof light that has been upgraded complete with a new lighting troth and an electric blind. The new lighting offers six settings which can be altered for scene setting and to view the artwork under different light conditions.
