Project Overview

We were proud to be awarded the contract for the refurbishment, fire precaution, and alteration works at RADA Studios, located within the iconic Grade II listed building at 16 Chenies Street in London. This project presented a unique opportunity to enhance the safety and functionality of a historic educational space while preserving its architectural heritage.

Scope of works

The scope of works included the installation of fire stopping measures and certified fire doors to significantly improve fire safety throughout the building. We carried out sensitive repairs and replacements of windows, ensuring both energy efficiency and the preservation of the building’s original character.

To improve accessibility, we constructed a new reception area and installed a fully DDA-compliant toilet, making the space more inclusive and welcoming for all users. We also installed an Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) system to support smoke ventilation and enhance overall building safety.

Added value

In addition to these upgrades, we undertook general redecoration works and enhancements to existing areas, refreshing the interior spaces to create a more modern and comfortable environment for students and staff.

The project was completed over a 16-week period, and we successfully handed over a safe, compliant, and revitalised space in time for the summer term. We are pleased to have contributed to the continued excellence of RADA Studios, supporting its mission as a leading institution in performing arts education.
